Things to do in Dalawella

Dalawella Beach is an undiscovered gem in the heart of the South Coast. Only 7km from Galle Fort, and a short tuk tuk ride to Unawatuna, we have put together a list of our recommendations within walking distance to Dream Cabana.

1. Rope Swing (0m)
The most popular thing to do in Dalawella is right at our doorstep. Our rope swing is open to all guests for only 500 LKR including two swings.

2. Frog Rock (200m)
One of the most photographed beachside spots in Sri Lanka, ‘frog rock’ is a picturesque giant rock that perfectly frames the ocean view and sunset. Fun fact – ‘frog rock’ had been branded almost 15 years ago by tourists, however we locals call it ‘naya gala (cobra rock’.

3. Surf (250m)
Enjoy one of the quietest surf breaks in Sri Lanka steps away from Dream Cabana. Banti is able to offer surf lessons for beginners through to advanced.

4. Angel Beach (200m)
A short stroll down the beach will take you to one of Sri Lanka’s most frequented locations – Angel Beach. For food, a boogie, or dip in their pool.

5. Wijaya Beach Restaurant (300m)
Enjoy a wood-fire pizza or cocktail at Wijaya Restaurant, with views over the Turtle Lagoon and Frog Rock.

6. Turtle Lagoon (350m)
Mihiripenna Beach, neighbouring Dalawella, is a protected lagoon covered by coral reef. It’s swimmable almost all year round, and is home to many turtles. As some of these species are endagngered, and our friendly fellows are protected species, it’s illegal to touch these magic animals. Please keep your distance!
